How can a volume be created with the least amount of materials in a sustainable manner ?

First year of Studio introduced us to “design build”, the act of designing the entirety of a project with a relatively small-scale budget, then constructing it. As a group, we went from individual maquettes that began to lead to a team wide design process which
concluded with a pursuit for efficiency and a sustainable structure.

The structure is constructed out of 2” x 3” timber with tenon and mortise joints and rope to lash the pieces together which eliminated the use of nails, screws and glue making the structure completely biodegradable.
